Ardex P4 Rapid Multi-Purpose Primer (8kg)

Ardex P4 Primer is a ready mixed, rapid drying, solvent free primer. It can be used on internal and external walls, ceilings and floors. Ardex P4 can also be used prior to the installation of tile adhesives and floor-leveling compounds as well as facilitating tiling onto existing tile. The consistency of Ardex P4 has been optimized so that dripping and splashes are virtually eliminated

  Note. coverage depends on the texture and absorbency of the substrate. Porous surfaces will require more material

Instructions for use

Surface Preparation

• Allow all new substrates to dry fully i.e. new concrete should be allowed to dry for a minimum of 6 weeks and new cement screeds for a minimum of 3 weeks
• Check existing substrates are fully dry i.e. with flooring materials the screed should have an RH reading of no greater than 75% and, where direct to ground, protected by an effective damp proof membrane< /li>
• The substrate must be firm and free from dust, water soluble materials, excess adhesive residues, polish, wax, grease and other barriers to adhesion
• Ensure the ambient temperature and temperature of the surface being primed is above 5°C

Mixing & Application
Ardex P4 is a ready mixed and ready to use primer (however to facilitate application to absorbent substrates it can be diluted with up to 1 litre of water per 8kg)

• Apply a thin, even coat with a short pile roller or paint brush
  Note. apply the primer evenly and allow sufficient coverage on the substrate
• Allow to dry to a thin white film approx. 60 minutes at 20°C
  Note. at lower temperatures and on dense substrates the drying time will be extended and at higher temperatures on absorbent substrates the drying time will be shortened. Do NOT use on surfaces where the surface temperature is less than 5°C
  
  Reseal opened packaging after use to avoid evaporation and contamination

Cleaning

• Tools can be cleaned with water if the Ardex P4 is still wet and has not formed a dry film

Recommendations

Ardex P4 Primer is NOT recommended for use on metal and mastic asphalt, excess residues, polyurethane and epoxy coatings; for this use Ardex P82 Water Dispersed Epoxy Primer

Ardex P4 Primer is NOT recommended for use in submerged locations such as swimming pools
