BAL Rapidset Grey Adhesive (22.5Kg)

BAL Rapidset Grey Adhesive is a high quality adhesion, powder-based wall and floor tile adhesive, containing porcelbond polymers for increased movement and bond. It is highly water/frost-resistant; ideal for fast track tiling of kitchens, wetrooms, bathrooms and showers.

BAL Rapidset Grey Adhesive conforms to EN 12004 C2FT

Instructions for use

• Ensure surfaces to be tiled are flat, clean, dry, sound and free from contamination (in wet rooms, bathrooms, showers or swimming pools, use Ardex WPC waterproof tanking system to first waterproof the substrate)
• Mix the product with clean cold water
  - for walls: 5.5 parts powder to 1 part water
  - for floors: 4.5 parts powder to 1 part water
  (Mix until smooth, lump-free consistency achieved)
• Using a trowel, apply the adhesive to the wall or floor surface (max. 1m² at a time)
  (The size of notched trowel chosen, depends on the tile size, the surface being tiled, the profile on the back of the tile and the degree of coverage required - check out our wide range of trowels)
• Comb to required bed thickness (between 2-6mm) ensuring ribs all run in one direction
  (Note. if fixing large/heavily-patterned tiles, apply additional adhesive to tile reverse)
• Fix tiles before adhesive forms skin (typically 20 minutes at 20°C). If skin has formed, remove adhesive and apply fresh layer
• Press tile firmly into the ribs of the adhesive and into position, with slight twisting/sliding action to ensure optimum adhesive contact (tiles can be adjusted for 5-10 minutes after initial positioning)
• Ensure you have left adequate joint spaces between tiles for grouting
• Clean off surplus adhesive from tile face and between tile joints

Recommendations

BAL Rapidset Grey Adhesive is not suitable for use with limestone, travertine, translucent marble and some granite due to staining; in this case use BAL RapidSet White Adhesive.It is also not suitable for installations subject to vibration, shrinkage, deflection and heated screeds (underfloor heating); in this case use BAL Single Part Flexible, BAL Rapidset Flexible or BAL Super Cover Rapidset Flexible.
