Product #: BSGF310
Bostik Gripfill is a high strength, one part, gap-filling adhesive; specifically designed to bond a large variety of materials, including stair nosings, window frames and wall panels, to a wide range of different substrates, regardless of the evenness of their surface. It is a solvent based, rubber resin, gunable adhesive, suitable for a quick and easy application process
Key Features

Instructions for use
Surface Preparation
- Surfaces must be clean, structurally sound, dry and free from any dust and loose material
- Prime porous surfaces e.g. plaster, fibre cement board, using BAL Prime APD Primer, Ardex P51 Primer and Bonding Agent, Ardex P82 Water Dispersed Epoxy Primer or Ardex P4 Multi-Purpose Primer (depending on the substrate type and location) and allow to dry fully
Application to Stair Nosings, Window Frames
- Fix the Gripfill cartridge into the extruder
- Cut the nozzle to the desired width, angle and push a nail through the nozzle to break the seal at the base
- Apply a continuous bead (usually 6mm diameter) to the surface being bonded. Position on the substrate by sliding into place, and apply pressure overall
Note. if the surface is to be applied to a vertical substrate, temporary support (e.g. panel pins, masonry nails etc) may be required - Allow to dry overnight prior to any further operation (e.g. fixing boards to battens)
Note. excessive thickness of adhesive may extend drying time
Application to Wall Panels
- Fix the Gripfill cartridge into the extruder
- Cut the nozzle to the desired width, angle and push a nail through the nozzle to break the seal at the base
- Apply a continuous bead (usually 6mm) around the rear of the panel, approx. 25mm from the edge. Additional beads should then be applied across the panel at 600mm centres (450mm for heavy panels)
- Immediately present the panel to the wall, slightly above its required position, and applying pressure slide it into place in order to break any surface skin. Press firmly to ensure maximum overall contact, using a soft mallet if necessary. Continue as above with further panels making sure they are flush with each other
Note. any adjustments must be made within 5 minutes of placing
Application to Impervious Materials
Follow the instructions for ‘Application to Wall Panels’, then...
- Where two impervious materials are to be bonded, press firmly together and break the bond by pulling away immediately ensuring good transfer has occurred. Wait a maximum of 5 minutes and re-bond the two materials
Cleaning
- Spillages: carefully clean with white spirit before the film has dried
Recommendations
When using Bostik Gripfill externally, it must be protected from driving rain, ponding water or permanently wet situations. This can be achieved using silicone sealant
Bostik Gripfill is not recommended for bonding mirrors, as it may cause an adverse reaction on the mirror backing
