Click and Collect

The London Tile Co. offers a free of charge Click and Collect service for all tile orders. Simply select collection from your local store at the checkout. Pickup times from each branch vary so please check this before ordering. Once your order has arrived at your chosen depot you will be contacted via telephone or email to let you know it is ready to collect.

Our friendly sales and warehouse staff will be happy to help you load your car but please note tiles can be very heavy and bulky - we can advise on the weight of the tiles but it is your responsibility to know the capability of your vehicle. Multiple trips may be required depending on the size of the order.

A 'working day' is Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays. Weekends and bank holidays do not count as working days.

Important Note - Please Read

Although we make every effort to ensure your order gets to you quickly and in great condition, damages and losses do sometimes occur. In these instances we will attempt to resolve these problems as quickly as possible. Our carriers provide a great service with 99% of orders reaching their destination on time, however on occasions a delivery can arrive late. It is for this reason that we suggest you order the goods so that they arrive at least 5 days before you need them, this will then allow us time to correct any problems. Please read our terms and conditions for full details.

Delivery Information

Standard 3-4 Working Day Delivery Conditions

  • Week day delivery only. Orders placed after 12 noon on Thursday will be processed on Friday for delivery the following week.
  • Bank Holiday and the period between 20th December - 2nd Jan are company holidays and deliveries will not be processed until the next available work day.
  • The order has been placed before 12 noon and all security checks have been completed.
  • All items on your order are in stock and available for delivery.
  • Cleared funds have been received in full for the order total.

Delivery Cost

The delivery cost depends on your location and the weight of the goods purchased. To find the exact delivery cost, please use the Delivery Estimate tool in the basket once you have added your products.

Terms & Conditions for Tile Deliveries

Pallet deliveries of tiles will be made with large goods vehicles using tail lifts to the nearest kerbside. Our pallet couriers are unable to bring these items inside the property or move any items to the desired floor of the house due to insurance purposes. It is at the customer's liability, and driver's discretion, if delivery is accepted onto any part of the customer's property.

Deliveries will be made between 8am and 6pm. Our standard 3-4 day delivery includes a booking service so you know which day to expect the delivery.

Can the Vehicle Deliver to You?

Pallets will be handled using a manual pump truck which requires a flat and smooth surface. The rigid lorries delivering pallets will be large, so you must ensure sufficient space and access is available, notably:

  • Sufficient access width for a heavy goods vehicle
  • Suitable surface for a heavy goods vehicle to park and unload
  • No low bridges or low overhanging trees
  • Ability for the vehicle to turn and manoeuvre (if a cul-de-sac)

If your access is limited it may be possible to arrange alternative delivery methods, however this must be done in advance of the goods being sent out. Please call the customer services team to discuss alternative delivery options.

Checking Your Goods

The most important thing you can do is check your goods! Make sure you have received the correct goods and are happy with the colour, shading, sizing etc. This must be done before the goods are installed. Tiles cannot be exchanged or returned once fixing has occurred. Let our customer services team know of any problems as soon as possible. It is extremely important that you indicate the damages on the delivery note when you sign for the goods. You must notify our customer services team by emailing us or calling 0333 320 80 48 if there are any damages or irregularities to your order within 24 hours of delivery, or it will be assumed that these issues have occurred after delivery was made.

After you have notified us of the damages, replacement goods will be sent out as soon as possible.

The majority of goods reach the destination undamaged; however, damages during transit do occur. Please ensure that you've allowed extra time for your order to arrive in the case that damages occur. The London Tile Company cannot be held responsible for extra costs incurred by the goods being delayed.

Batching, Shading and Bowing

All our tiles undergo stringent quality control checks, however the shade of tiles will vary between different manufacturing batches. You need to check that the shade matches your requirements and is continuous throughout your order. The batch may be different from the sample tile you have received. Some tile ranges are designed to have contrasting shades, check that these variations match your requirements. Deeper, darker reactive glazes can be prone to crazing.

European standards permit tiles to be slightly bowed. For square and smaller size formats this is rarely noticeable, however it can be more apparent in larger oblong, planks and hand made tiles. Planks and oblong tiles are often laid to a brick bond pattern with a narrow joint. If there is any bowing this will result in potential lipping problems, however any lipping can be avoided by using a different laying pattern and/or wider joints. Always check the tiles for any bowing and dry lay to ensure lipping will not occur. Using a stack bond or 1/3 bond on oblong/planks will normally eradicate any lipping issue.
